For the successful completion of the eighth five-year plan and organization of new equipment production, by the Decree of the Presidium of the Supreme Soviet of the USSR the plant awarded the Order of Lenin.

The production of fuel assemblies for research reactors was mastered.

Serial production of fuel elements and fuel assemblies for high-power reactors cooled by pressurized water started at the NCCP. The production was based on technical solutions ensuring fabrication of large batches of nuclear fuel.

The key idea is to increase the efficiency and safety of the main NCCP production due to the concentration of nuclear facilities or sites in a single-complex of buildings on the industrial site.
